Abstract

The microbiological diagnosis of infectious diseases is based on the results obtained through different laboratory procedures. The clinical examination of patients including routine history The physical examination is invaluable. Materials obtained from the patient from secretions, exudates can sometimes be evaluated microscopyarily with or without staining. Microorganisms can be cultivated in the laboratory to provide evidence of the existence. Serological examinations, dermatological examinations and the pathological examination of biopsies obtained materials are also of critical importance in establishing the diagnosis of an infectious disease, X-rays, blood chemistry and other evaluations provide evidence of classically associated changes to specific infectious diseases.

Most diagnoses of infectious diseases are obtained from clinical evaluations without any laboratory support, which leads to it. Administration of empirical treatments, often unnecessary and even harmful to the patient. In tropical climates and developing countries, the diagnosis of these infections should be based on the evidence of the laboratory with a high degree of reliability contrary to the one based only on the clinical diagnosis. However, at the national level disease such as tuberculosis (TB) and fungal infections are diagnosed only by symptomatology.
